About
Legal English is a specialized platform that trains lawyers, law students, in-house counsel, and corporate professionals to use English accurately in real legal practice.
It offers structured level-based courses from A2 to C1 with over 200 lessons, more than 20 weekly live sessions, and a professional community, all focused on practical, real-world legal scenarios.
What does the program include?
Legal English is organized into three levels (Beginner A2–B1, Intermediate B1–B2, and Advanced B2–C1), each with 8 thematic modules and 8 lessons per module, designed to progressively develop legal vocabulary and professional communication skills. The live sessions cover the same curriculum topics in a dynamic and practical manner, without content repetition over a 12-month period, ensuring continuous progress and exposure to new legal scenarios.

We run 24 live sessions per week (Monday to Thursday) across three levels: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced.
To support a global audience, sessions are offered in two identical daily time blocks:
Europe & MENA (Evening): 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm (UTC+2)
Latin America & USA (Evening): 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm (UTC-6)
Both blocks cover the same content, so you can join at the time that works best for you.

Professional Certification in Legal English
The program awards Legal English certification, accrediting language competencies applied to legal practice rather than general English.
The training is organized into three levels, and each level has its own independent certificate:
The program is led by Edward (Ted) Gudeman, a native English speaker, lawyer, notary public, and certified English teacher, with more than 9 years of experience in legal practice and teaching English for more than 15 years.
He has worked independently and through his own law firm, and has held professional roles at the General Directorate of Migration and Foreign Affairs of Costa Rica, UNHCR, and the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. His approach integrates law and language to deliver practical, professional training in Legal English.
